Roughing it : Unfinished Plaster Walls

There's something really appealing about a messy, unfinished surface. Whether broken, crumbling patches of plaster or scratched off wallpaper, leaving your walls as-is gives a room its own unique character.

I'm not advocating that you leave every wall crumbling and unfinished, unless you're going for something really gritty. This would work best as a feature wall idea, a lone island between three immaculately plastered and painted ones.

Just add a bit of reclaimed wood and some industrial light fittings, et voila!
