Designer Furniture at a Discount: The Sample Sale 2016

Design fans, start getting excited: the first ever multi-brand product sample sale is coming to London. Simply named The Sample Sale, the three-day event will showcase contemporary furniture, lighting and accessories at knockdown prices of up to 70% off. It starts this Tuesday 4th March 2016, and will run until 6th March at Victoria House in Holborn. Tickets are £5 in advance or £8 on the door.

[Ninety Stool by Vitamin, was £300 now £210]

[ Canteen Stool by Very Good & Proper, was £294 now £119]

This is the latest venture from the team behind designjunction, the cornerstone event of London Design Festival. Visitors will be able to browse ex-display items, prototypes and discontinued lines at substantial discounts. The line-up comprises a host of much-loved contemporary design brands: so far the confirmed exhibitors include Tom Dixon, Case Furniture, Vitamin, Another Country, Very Good & Proper and Anglepoise.

[Duo Pendant by Anglepoise, price TBC]

[Stool Three by Another Country, was from £190 now from £133]

Anyone with money to burn on a decorating project will find a lot to get excited about here, but even those on a shoestring as short as mine can take home a bargain. Decode's seemingly discontinued Respun light (below) is reduced from £300 to £75, and Tom Dixon's Flood Pendant from £175 to £55. Seriously! I never thought the day would come where I could stretch to a Tom Dixon light. If you're looking for something under £50, Vitamin's Bellow salt and pepper grinders are now £30 each and Tom Dixon's Etch brass tea light holders are down to a tenner.
